Wide Street Deck size High Density Mold

High DensityFoam for shaping your own wide street deck mold. 

This high density foam mold will stand up to a lot of abuse but is still easy to shape your custom mold with.

You can use these molds again and again for the same shape or adjust them along the way, by taking off more material depending on the angles, concaves ..etc that you want to achieve.

We recommend using the surform scrapper to shape your mold. This is the same tool our own builders at Roarockit use to shape their personal boards with, so you know it works.

Please note that it is important for your sheets to be the same size as your mold. For example, the ideal veneer size to be used with this mold is the Wide Street Deck Veneer.

Tip: Tape a backer the size of your mold to your custom mold, to help keep your mold stiff when pressing.

Maintenance

Wrap your molds in cellophane or transparent packing tape to help preserve and stop glue from sticking to it.
This will help keep your molds in better shape for longer and for many builds.

Occasionally foam breaks in transit. All is not lost! While it makes it harder to work with, you can put it back together (unless it is crushed beyond hope) Join the broken pieces together using contact cement (don’t use spray adhesive, it will melt the foam).

A simpler fix is just to tape the pieces back together on the bottom side, the side you are not shaping. This technique can also be used for changing the size and shape of your molds.

Can I hot-wire the foam?

Certainly, however that is a one-shot approach. You need to know exactly where and how your wire is going to cut, and you can’t make a mistake

Why use high density foam?

It shapes nicely and stands up to multiple uses. Also, if you are shaping radical bends, it will not wear down as easily.
