High Density Foam for shaping your own mold.
This high density foam mold will stand up to a lot of abuse but is still easy to shape your custom mold with.
We recommend using the surform scrapper to shape your mold.
This is the same tool our own builders at Roarockit use to shape their personal boards with, so you know it works.
These molds are ideal for building custom longboards
Tip: Tape a backer the size of your mold to your custom mold, to help keep your mold stiff when pressing.
Maintenance
Once you have your ideal shape, cover your mold in tape, so as glue doesn't stick to it and it is protected from impacts. This will help your mold last longer.
Occasionally foam breaks in transit. All is not lost! While it makes it harder to work with, you can put it back together (unless it is crushed beyond hope). Join the broken pieces together using contact cement (don’t use spray adhesive, it will melt the foam).
A simpler fix is just to tape the pieces back together on the bottom side, the side you are not shaping.This technique can also be used for changing the size and shape of your molds.

FAQ
Can I hot-wire the foam?
Certainly, however that is a one-shot approach. You need to know exactly where and how your wire is going to cut, and you can’t make a mistake.
Why use high density foam?
It shapes nicely and stands up to multiple uses. Also, if you are shaping radical bends, it will not wear down as easily.
