Sarah Jackson, de Roarockit Skateboard Europe<\/a> : \u00ab notre exposition collective n\u2019est pas influenc\u00e9e par une grosse organisation officielle, ni une grande marque multinationale, mais plut\u00f4t par des gens passionn\u00e9s, qu\u2019ils soient shapers, artistes ou activistes. Notre organisation est fond\u00e9e sur les valeurs de respect, de partage et aussi l\u2019envie de repousser sans cesse les limites du \u2018Board Art\u2019, \u00e0 tous niveaux. Le concept derri\u00e8re cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement est de l\u2019organiser chaque ann\u00e9e dans un lieu en Europe, dans les villes principales et parfois dans des lieux insolites ! \u00bb <\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    La seconde \u00e9dition du European Custom Show se d\u00e9roule cette ann\u00e9e \u00e0 Bordeaux, \u00e0 l\u2019espace Darwin, un des lieux cultes de la culture urbaine, exp\u00e9rimentale et artistique au sens ultra-large du terme. Plus de 50 artistes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s pour cette occasion et pas moins de 150 custom boards seront expos\u00e9es. <\/span><\/p>\n

     Cette ann\u00e9e, nous allons, de plus, cr\u00e9er (shaper) une oeuvre d\u2019art \u00e0 partir de skateboards et longboards courb\u00e9s. Cette \u0153uvre d\u2019art sera ensuite mise aux ench\u00e8res au profit de l\u2019association Skateistan, une organisation non gouvernementale pour qui nous avons souhait\u00e9 montrer notre implication. L\u2019association Skateistan permet aux enfants et jeunes de se d\u00e9velopper gr\u00e2ce au skateboard et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation. Selon les mots de ses fondateurs, il s\u2019agit de : \u00ab cr\u00e9er un meilleur futur pour ces jeunes et leurs communaut\u00e9s, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des programmes innovants qui visent \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper les exp\u00e9<\/span>riences et comp\u00e9tences de chacun d\u2019entre eux \u00bb.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement European Custom Show fera partie du concept \u00ab Skate Life \u00bb \u00e0 l\u2019espace Darwin qui inclura entre autres : performances live, contest de skate, concerts, workshops\/ateliers DIY, etc.<\/p>\n

The European Custom Show is a one-of-akind collective exhibition that started in 2017. Initially founded by the Chalk Custom Board Project<\/a>, and now co-organised for the first time with Roarockit Skateboard Europe<\/a>, this collective show aims to gather the most talented custom board artists from all over Europe : skateboards, longboards, surfboards, snowboards and much more.<\/p>\n

Mathieu Bonte a.k.a Mata7ik, co-founder of the European Custom Show<\/a> declares : \u00ab we noticed that most of the custom board artists were creating art individually and it was therefore obvious that a collective event would represent the board art in its purest form \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Sarah Jackson, from Roarockit Skateboard Europe<\/a>, declares : \u00ab our collective show is not driven by any brand or corporate organisation, but by some passionate shapers, artists and board activists that have a collective mind, a non elitist mentality and a true passion about boards. An opportunity to bring together and exchange. The concept is to hold this European Custom Show in different places throughout Europe, in major cities but also in unique places that are quite surprising\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The second edition of the European Custom Show is happening this year in Bordeaux, at Darwin, one of the most popular places to hold such an innovative art show. More than 50 custom board artists (and 150 custom boards) will attend the exhibit.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>     This year, we will also create an astonishing piece of art, handmade entirely out of custom boards. This project will be auctioned and all benefits will be sent to Skateistan, a non-profit organisation that we care about dearly. Skateistan empowers children and youth through skateboarding and education. Skateistan quotes, \u00abThrough our innovative programs children build the skills and confidence, to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.\u00bb<\/p>\n

The European Custom Show will be part of the \u00abSkate Life\u00bb monthly event at Darwin, that will also include : live performances, skate contests, live concerts, DIY workshops, etc.<\/p>\n
